Call for Organizers
In order to organize such event we have to share some of the load. So there need to be several people organizing the conference.
- Location manager
- person who deals with all the issues regarding the venue. - Content managers and community contact
at least one person for each major subject.
If you'd like to have lots of good Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby, Javascript or whatever else talks then please volunteer to be a content manager.
You'll have to promote the conference to you community both in Israel and overseas generating lot of noise and getting people to submit talks and to attend the conference.
You'll have to decide which talk to accept, which to reject and which should be modified. - Booklet manager
As in the previous years, we would like to collect the slides of the talks (or get some more textual version of the talks) and publish in a printed format. We need someone to collect the materials, organize them and make sure they are printed nicely and on time. Most of the work is done in the last 4-6 weeks before the conference but I'd like to know earlier who does this job? - PR person
While we are expecting that many attendees will talk about the event in their blogs and forums and mailing lists and
we are expecting the comunity contact people to promote the conference in their own communities
there should be a person who makes sure the other channels of communication are not neglected either. - Web and graphical designer
We need someone to improve the design of the website, create a nice logo, banner etc. - Hebrew translation
While this is far from being critical, it would be nice at least part of the site translated to Hebrew. Maybe it is enough to have a single explanation page in Hebrew.
