We need 3 halls (one for 300-400 people. 2 for 100-150 people) and 1-2 rooms (for 20-30 people) for 3 days sometime in February 2009.
Details
We would like to organize the conference in an University or a Collage for several reasons.
- One of them is that it is a non-commercial conference and we would like to empahsize that with the fact we are having it in an Academic institution.
- We would like to get the halls free of charge in order to reduce our costs. Academic institutions can see the benefit for them having the conference on their premisis. So far all our conferences except tha last workshop were organized in Academic institutions.
On the previous OSDC we had 200 visitors. This time we are expecting between 300-400 people. We need one hall to hold 300-400 people.
The conference is planned to be 3 days long with 3 tracks and some side tracks.
Some of the time like the beginning of the conference and the end but maybe
also some of the time during the second day we are going to have only a single
track so all the people need to fit in one room. In other times of the conference
people will be split up in some random way (everyone can go to any of the tracks).
We can assume that rooms of 100-150 people will be good for the other two tracks.
In addition we plan to have smaller tracks for hands-on experimenting. These need
1-2 rooms of 20-30 people.
We need to have wireless system to support at least 200 computers at the same time. We need power cables throughout the conference halls (and not only at the walls) so people can connect their computes to them.
Place for registration, Place to provide refreshment. Place to have lunch.
To be clear, while the conference is non-profit we charge money from the participants and we have corporate sponsors who will display their logo during the conference.
